Like RuPaul, I Better Work

Lots o'news to report. Good stuff. Got my book notes back from my editor and she liked most of it. Whew. I was really sweating it out, but now I feel really energized to edit and rewrite a little bit. I was going a little stir crazy waiting for said notes that I took a freelance job (and then of course as soon as I committed to it, the notes came in. I have the worst timing ever.) I hadn't worked at "real" job in a year, so I was excited and nervous (what to wear? where to buy my bagel in the morning? where to stand in line to buy the bagel? where's the bathroom? etc., etc.) No free coffee, but the people were really nice (and the paycheck will be even nicer, I'm sure.)

Now, I'm back at casa Rushkoff doing my other job -- the renovation thing. Stop shaking your head, believe me, this is a full time job that will work your last nerve. Especially the part of trying to understand your contractor (if only I spoke Moldavian my life would be so much easier.) We're hoping to be living in our new place by spring (I know, the original move-in date was December - I'm still laughing {and crying} about that one.) As I gear up to scream about the electrical job, I find myself thinking about my recent freelance job. Which was less of a headache?, I wonder. (Guess.)

In other strange yet wonderful yet strange news, Doug has joined Genesis P-Orridge's revamped Psychic TV (on keyboards.) I've never seen Gen play live but he did sing "Hamburger Lady" to Jenny and me a little while ago. They'll be playing sometime in December in NYC. I'll keep ya'll posted. Promise.
